Are you aware?

Are you aware?

My family and I, including my two young children, are committed to taking various steps to reduce our plastic usage and help clean up our local environment. When we recently attended a local beach clean-up event we were most shocked by the micro plastic particles. Our food shopping choices have changed to local retailers who minimise plastic packaging, we use reusable coffee cups, we choose not to buy plastic toys, we produce our own food, and we say no to plastic at every opportunity. I have been astounded by the backlash regarding the banning of single use plastic bags and believe that raising awareness will create more positive change. I would love every person to watch the documentary “Albatross” to see the impact that plastic is having in remote environments. I will take every opportunity to raise awareness by demonstrating how we as a family are eliminating plastic usage in our home.

Micro plastic pieces mixed in with seaweed washed up on the beach. How do we go about effectively cleaning up our environment and preventing further damage?
